Travel to Uppsala
The historical city of Uppsala is situated 40 minutes by train north of Sweden’s capital Stockholm and approximately 20 minutes by train from Stockholm Arlanda Airport.
Different ways to get to Uppsala
From the airport
The Stockholm-Arlanda International Airport is located between Uppsala and Stockholm, 36 km south of Uppsala, and by far the most convenient airport when travelling to Uppsala where the conference starts.
Bus from the airport
Bus line 801 runs between Arlanda and central Uppsala throughout the day. The journey takes about 45 minutes. You can buy the ticket with a credit card on the bus, but cash is not accepted. There are also vending machines at Arlanda airport terminals 2, 4 and 5 where you can buy a one-way ticket for the bus. Credit cards only. There is a small reduction of the price if you buy it from the vending machine in advance of the journey, compared to buying the ticket on board the bus.

Train from the airport
Trains leave Arlanda Airport for Uppsala Central Station directly from Sky City next to Terminal 5. The journey time is about 20 minutes. Tickets may be purchased at the ticket desk in Sky City. Please note that an extra transit fee of 85 SEK must be paid at the ticket barrier to leave or enter Sky City.

Taxi from the airport
At the airport, taxis can be found outside of the arrival hall. The journey takes about 30 minutes. The cost is approx. SEK 595. Make sure to ask the driver for a fixed price in advance. You can pay by credit card or by cash. You can make advance reservations with:

Trains to Uppsala from Stockholm
If your train brings you into Stockholm Central Station, it’s easy to change to a commuter (SJ or Mälartåg) train and continue to Uppsala. They depart every 20 minutes throughout the day. Check the timetable and book your ticket at SJ.se
Ferry from Finland
You can reach Uppsala by travelling by ferry from Finland. You can travel from Helsinki, Turku, Nådendal or Åland (Mariehamn or Långnäs) to Stockholm or Kapellskär. Tallink Silja Line, Viking Line and Finnlines operate different routes:
Viking Line: from Turku or Helsinki (via Mariehamn) to Stockholm: Stadsgården, Tegelvikshamn
I you travel by car you have to take the E20 from road 222, follow the signs towards E4 and then follow the signs towards Uppsala. Take exit 186 from the E4 to reach Uppsala Central.
To travel by bus from Stadsgården you can take a read line bus from Londonviadukten to Stockholm Central Station. To by a ticket you can use the SL-app or by a ticket at a nerby convenience store. At Stockholm Central Station you purchace a comuter train ticket to Uppsala Central station at a ticket machine or in the SJ-app.
Tallink Silja Line: from Turku or Helsinki (via Mariehamn or Långnäs) to Stockholm: Värtahamnen
If you travel by car you follow the signs towards E4 north and then follow the signs towards Sundsvall/Uppsala.
To travel from Värtahamnen you can take the underground, red line from Ropsten station to Stockholm Central Station. To by a ticket you can use the SL-app or by a ticket at a nerby convenience store. At Stockholm Central station you purchace a comuter train ticket to Uppsala Central station at a ticket machine or in the SJ-app.
Finnlines: from Nådendal (via Långnäs) to Kapellskär
From Kapellskär to Uppsala by car, you follow E18, road 77 and E4 towards Uppsala. Take exit 186 from the E4 and follow this road until you reach Uppsala.
If you travel by bus from Kapellskär, you have to take bus 631X to Norrtälje bus station and from there, take bus 677 towards Uppsala. You can purchase a ticket from the SL-app.
